Sounding Now is a blog that aims to highlight musical activities throughout Singapore, focusing on contemporary classical music, electronic music, experimental music, and freely improvised music with interviews of featured composers and artists as well as introductions to contemporary works being performed.
It is hosted by the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music’s Composition Programme, and, as such, is part of the education of its composition students, offering them an opportunity to develop their communication and promotion skills. Authors of articles are instructors, students, and guests.
Performers and composers in Singapore are welcome to contact us to promote their events and propose articles for their own events. We hope that Sounding Now can be used as a tool to build a community of artists and listeners interested in adventures in new and unusual music.
